Dee Foust Harvey's passion for handmade goods is expressed in her line of personally crafted designs and has been reproduced in perfect detail by many vendors throughout the years. Dee launched her career in 1990 by starting a catalog that featured lots of handmade treasures. But she was off and running after that and in 2000, partnered with Bethany Lowe Designs to create her first and well received holiday collectibles line. Dee now works with ESC and Company who is reproducing a new line of farm style figures and ornaments for many of the holidays, perfect for today's decorators. As an avid collector, Dee finds inspiration from lots of the vintage treasures that she personally collects. As an artist she works to pass on the tradition and to capture the imagination of the past! Spend a day with Dee or even a few hours and you will see how her effusive personality and her joie de vivre inspire all she does.
Capitalizing on the current hot button trend, Dee always has perfect timing, Farmhouse style is all the decorating rage, so leave it to her to use that as inspiration for her next collection! These new farmhouse styled figures compliment the charming, cozy and relaxed farmhouse feel. Dee has dressed her Santa and snowman figures in worn burlap materials, some of them even have faded stripes or glittered stars on them that further compliments the farmhouse theme. Don't let the simple decorating style fool you though, Dee has added lots of embellishment in the form of tinsel, glitter and ribbons to these figures so that they could stand alone as a fabulous tabletop figure, heralding the coming holiday. Or....why not gather together a festive grouping of Dee's figures, surround them with bottle brush trees and batting for an even broader holiday statement!
Taking a page from the Victorian era, Dee Harvey has created some Valentine's Day and Easter figures that are so sweet and charming. Tilted heads give them their charm but their rosy pink cheeks delight and make them a desirable collectible for your spring decorating. Just like the Christmas figures they are dressed in faded burlap embellished with ribbons, crepe paper, tinsel and they all carry hearts. Yet another reason her designs have enjoyed years of success in the holiday collectible world!
