Also known as the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is an 8 night and 8 day Jewish festival commemorating the recovery and rededication of Jerusalem in the 2nd century BCE. Hanukkah is celebrated any time from late November to late December by lighting the 8 candles of a menorah. At Traditions, we carry many decor items, lighting accessories and ornaments that honor this festival of lights. Because Haukkah often occurs around the same time as Christmas, it has become a major North American celebration that many families with mixed religions celebrate. Hanukkah ornaments were designed so that they too could be hung on the tree during the holiday season and honor the Jewish holiday.
