We like to call Thanksgiving the "sandwich holiday" because it is right in between Halloween and Christmas and comes so quickly that we barely have time to decorate in honor of this important holiday! In North America, for both the United States and Canada, Thanksgiving represents a holiday commemorating a harvest festival that was celebrated by the first pilgrims. In the USA, it is generally believed that the first Thanksgiving was modeled after the harvest feast shared between the indigenous Wampanoag Indian people and the first English colonists in 1621.Thanksgiving is now celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November and is a time where families gather and celebrate with a huge feast, usually centered around turkey and tons of side dishes. It is also a symbol of the coming Christmas season, so let the celebrating begin!
