ITEM #: 12499 Camel Ornament by Old World Christmas
Material: Glass & Glitter
An Old World Christmas ornament. Camels primarily live in barren desert regions, becoming part of the nomadic way of life. This camel is a Dromedary, because it has one hump on its back. Contrary to popular myth, the hump is not primarily used as 'water storage'. Instead, the hump is a reservoir of fatty tissue used by the camel on long treks through the desert, when no resources are available. Camels are also covered in thick coats of fur which help insulate them from the intense desert heat during the day and shivering cold at night. This camel ornament really captures its unique body shape.
