An Old World Christmas glass ornament. Elk are a native to North America and Eastern Asia, but have been introduced to other countries as well. The animal lives in the forest and eats primarily grasses, bark and leaves. Only the male elk or bull have a rack of antlers, which they shed each winter! The rack can grow throughout the summer and fall to almost four feet wide. After mating season, their testosterone levels drop, causing the antlers to shed. This glass Elk ornament shows a buck on full display, with antlers at the peak of their growth.
