From Old World Christmas. The little red School House was a common sight in small towns throughout the United States in the 1800s and early 1900s. With few supplies, books or individual chalkboards, all students from the first grade through the eighth were tutored by the same teacher in one simple room. This glass schoolhouse ornament pays tribute with detailed accuracy to these small places of learning, with its red textured exterior, glittered gold roof and hand-drawn styled "School" banner over the front door.
