At 157 feet tall with 3.5 feet thick walls at the base, the Cape May Lighthouse is found at the tip of New Jersey's southern shore and is made to withstand hurricane level winds. It was actually the third lighthouse to be built on the cape, but the other two are now eroded away and rest under the water level.
