From Old World Christmas. As one of the original 13 colonies, South Carolina boasts some of the the U.S.A.’s oldest history. South Carolina is a smaller state, ranking 40th in size and only 23rd in population. Some of its most influential cities, like Myrtle Beach and Charleston, are big draws for the state's tourism. South Carolina is also known for its beaches, beautiful golf courses and of course many historic sites. This State of South Carolina ornament is shaped like its namesake and depicts some of what the state is famous for: a lighthouse, yellow jasmine flower, and the Carolina wren.
