From Old World Christmas. Pelznickel is an old German version of St. Nicholas and is often depicted wearing fur clothing. Brought to America by immigrants, his story mingled with those of other Christmas figures to become our Santa Claus. By any name, he still brings gifts and joy to all, this one in a glittered gold robe with green snowflake gloves holding a green sack.
