An Old World Christmas official NFL glass ornament. The Chargers football team started their lineage in 1959 in Los Angeles as part of the American Football league. In 1961, they moved to San Diego where they were very successful making the playoffs numerous times and won the AFL Championship against the Boston Patriots in 1963. After the AFL merged with the NFL in 1970, they made 7 appearances in the playoffs and played in the XXIX Super Bowl, where they lost to the San Francisco 49ers. But the Chargers have returned home to become the Los Angeles Chargers once again, where they compete in the NFL at the StubHub Center at Hollywood Park.
