The Playing Card characters are loyal servants in the novel, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". The club cards act as the soldiers, protecting the Queen of Hearts. The Five of Clubs participates in both the croquet games with the Queen and the trial when the Knave of Hearts is accused of stealing the Queen's Tarts! The Five of Clubs carries a staff in his left hand with a red heart on top and his black hat has two hearts on it as well. Just like a deck of cards, the back side of the figure looks just like a playing card.
