Day of the Dead ornaments are all the rage right now. This white opalescent painted and glittered skull looks just like a Dia de los Muertos sugar skull. With a flower in the middle of the forehead, glittered pink hearts in the eye sockets and swirling glitter accents all over the skull, it is the white grinning teeth that really give it that classic sugar skull look! Besides being a fun ornament to hang on your Halloween or Christmas tree, it does have a meaning too! Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a Mexican holiday that brings families and friends together to pray and remember the loved ones who have passed away to help support their spiritual journey. It is believed the gates of heaven open to allow the spirits of the deceased to reunite with their families, so these sugar skulls represent a departed soul returned to our realm.
