A snack for the ages! Ancient man, as well as the Native Americans would dry and cure meat to take on hunting or travelling journeys. Cured meat is a nutritional preserved snack that's useful to have when no other source of protein is available. Today, beef jerky is a snack food taken to a ball game, on hunting or camping trips, as well as sitting in front of the TV, it can be eaten just about anywhere! Jerky can be made from any lean meat, trimmed of fat, cut into strips and then dried to preserve it. Salt will often be used to prevent spoiling.
