Dia de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. This skeleton head ornament looks just like the sugar skull offerings that are placed on ofrendas, or private alters that are built to honor a loved one who has passed on. Beautiful blue, yellow, green and red glittered scroll work and flower designs adorn the skull, as well as a rose lined top hat on with a miniature skull on top, which is one thing the sugar skulls usually don't have. Day of the Dead ornaments make a perfect addition to any Halloween tree.
