ITEM #: TD8538 Resting Turkey Ornament by Bethany Lowe
Material: Hand Painted Resin
A Bethany Lowe design. Turkey is usually the centerpiece of the American Thanksgiving dinner, which commemorates the first Thanksgiving in 1621, when the Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a harvest meal. Ben Franklin championed the turkey as our national symbol, but the bald eagle won! Our family Thanksgiving weekend revolved around our ranch and all the men going hunting for, well, let's admit it, sometimes it was just for tin cans, but they really hoped one day to find those elusive turkeys that roamed the property. Thank goodness mom was back at the ranch house stuffing the turkey we brought with us and making sure we had the best Thanksgiving dinner. This Resting Turkey ornament reminds us of how gorgeous these birds actually are, with their red heads and neck, and iridescent feathers. A great ornament to hang on your Thanksgiving themed tree, or place them at each place setting of your holiday table!
