From Cody Foster. The Tangerine derives its name from the city of Tangier, Morocco, the port from which the tangerines were first shipped to Europe in 1841. The fruit's peak season is December, so traditionally children would receive a Tangerine in their Christmas stockings as a special treat. With its mottled texture, glittered stem and leaves, and bright orange color, this glass tangerine ornament looks like you really could peel it open!
