Madame Laveau, also known as the 19th century Voodoo Queen of New Orleans was a mysterious legend for centuries.  As a Louisiana Creole practitioner of Voodoo, a midwife and also an herbalist she was quite renowned, thought of as evil and mystical too.  This Department 56 Madam Laveau figure, who carries a skull on a stick and has a skull decorating her black hat would be a terrific addition to the Halloween village.  Place her near a spooky, moss covered swamp or dilapidated building.
