From Old World Christmas. According to legend the rooster has only crowed once at midnight. This was to announce the birth of the Baby Jesus. For this reason, Spanish and Latin American countries call their midnight mass on Christmas Eve the "Mass of the Rooster," or Misa del Gallo. With bright beautiful colors of red, orange, two-toned blue and green, and a vintage design, this "Heirloom" Rooster glass ornament is a great way to represent the Misa del Gallo on your Christmas tree whether you are of Latin origin or not. This is one of our favorite bird ornaments.
